What Information We Collect
We may collect and store the following personal information:

· interests and preferences;
· financial information as needed to process donations or other financial transactions, such as credit card or bank account numbers; and
· transactional information based on your activities on the sites (such as donating or requesting information).
In addition to the information you provide when you use our Web site, the CRCNA uses technology to collect information about the use of our Web site. For example, we use technology to track how many visitors access our Web site, the date and time of their visit, the length of their stay, and which pages they view. We also use technology to determine which web browsers our visitors use and the address from which they accessed our site.
How We Use That Information
The CRCNA uses the information you provide for the purposes for which it was originally collected, for example, to respond to your e-mail or provide the programs or services you requested. The CRCNA also uses this information to help us improve the content and functionality of our Web sites, to better understand the needs and interests of the people and organizations that use our Web site, and to improve our programs and services. The CRCNA and its ministries may use this information to contact you in the future to tell you about organizations, programs, services, and other things we believe will be of interest to you or to ask for your support.
With Whom Your Information May Be Shared
The CRCNA may share the personal information you provide to us with consultants and other third parties who act for or on behalf of the CRCNA, for further processing or analysis. In addition, there may be some other, limited circumstances in which the CRCNA may share or transfer the personal information in its databases, for example, to comply with a legal requirement, for the administration of justice, to protect your vital interests, to protect the security or integrity of our databases or this Web site, to take precautions against legal liability, or in the event of a corporate merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event.
Internet Protocol Address
We collect an IP address from all visitors to our Site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Site, analyze trends, track users' movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Use of "Cookies"
The CRCNA does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under thirteen, please do not give us any personal data. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personal data to the CRCNA, please contact us, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases. As we develop online programs for children, we will adopt appropriate policies and practices to protect the privacy of children.
All information provided to the CRCNA is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of the CRCNA. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.
Accessing, Reviewing and Changing Your Personal Information
You can see, review and change most of your personal information by signing on to a CRCNA personal profile. If we receive updated information from you offline (via mail or phone, or from a Christian Reformed Church staff person), we may modify your online personal information. You must promptly update your personal information if it changes or is inaccurate. Upon your request, we will inactivate your account. We do retain personal information from inactivated accounts to comply with law, prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our Site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. The CRCNA will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the Site. The CRCNA stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.
